Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: June 1, 2026
Hi! I’m Kelly, and I want to be completely upfront about how Budget Travel Mom makes money. Transparency matters, and the FTC requires it — so here’s the full picture.
The short version
Budget Travel Mom (budgettravelmom.info) participates in affiliate marketing programs and credit card referral programs. When you click certain links on this site and apply for a product or make a purchase, I may earn a commission or referral bonus — at no additional cost to you.
What that looks like in practice
Throughout this site, you’ll see links to credit cards, hotels, travel products, and other services. Some of those links are affiliate or referral links. When you click one and complete an action — like getting approved for a credit card, booking a stay, or purchasing a product — I may receive a commission, points, miles, or a flat referral bonus from the company.
You’ll never pay more because of an affiliate link. Pricing, welcome bonuses, sign-up offers, and terms are exactly the same whether you click my link or go directly to the company’s website.
Programs I participate in (or may participate in)
- Credit card referral programs (including Chase, American Express, Capital One, and others)
- Credit card affiliate networks (such as CardRatings, Bankrate, CJ Affiliate, FlexOffers, and Impact)
- Hotel affiliate programs (such as Marriott Bonvoy, Hilton, Hyatt, Booking.com, and Expedia)
- Travel product affiliate programs (including the Amazon Associates Program)
- Other travel-related affiliate networks
As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.
How I decide what to recommend
I only recommend products, credit cards, and services that I have personally used, currently use, or would confidently recommend to a close friend or family member.
I do not accept payment to write positive reviews. I do not recommend cards just because they pay the highest commissions. If a card has a great commission but isn’t right for families, I won’t feature it. If a card has no affiliate program at all but is genuinely the best fit for a reader, I’ll tell you about it anyway.
About credit card content specifically
- Credit card offers, welcome bonuses, annual fees, and benefits change frequently. I do my best to keep content current, but always verify the current offer directly on the issuer’s website before applying.
- This site does not include all available credit card offers — I focus on the cards most useful for family travel.
- I am not a financial advisor, tax professional, or credit counselor. Nothing on this site is personalized financial advice.
- You should only apply for credit cards that fit your individual financial situation. Always pay your statement in full each month and never carry a balance to chase rewards.
- Editorial opinions on this site are my own and have not been reviewed, approved, or endorsed by any credit card issuer or affiliate partner.
My commitment to you
I clearly disclose affiliate relationships on pages containing affiliate links. I write honest, experience-based content even when it costs me commissions. I will tell you when a card or product isn’t right for you, even if I’d earn money from it. And I keep credit card information as current as I reasonably can.
